Books of Hope is back!

Welcome to Books of Hope, an organization that donates books to children in hospitals across the United States. Our mission is to overcome the bad to create a better good by providing sick children with books to help brighten their hospital stays and provide a sense of comfort and normalcy.

Our organization was founded in 2018 by Jose Lopez, who saw firsthand the positive impact that books can have on children going through difficult times. With the support of community stakeholders, students in the Shikellamy JROTC program, teachers, and administration we have reached our impact coast to coast. Since then, we have donated over 15,000 books to children in 23 states, and our impact continues to grow.

We collect donations through a variety of channels, including fundraising events, book drives, and individual donations. We also work with schools to educate children about philanthropy and the importance of giving back to their communities. By participating in our book donation campaigns, students learn about the joy of giving and the impact they can have on others.

In addition to our book donation efforts, we are also dedicated to community outreach and working with school-aged children to educate them about philanthropy. We believe that it is important to foster a sense of compassion and responsibility in young people, and we work to inspire the next generation of leaders to make a positive difference in the world.

We are grateful for the support of our donors and volunteers, who have helped us to make such a positive impact on the lives of sick children. Their generosity and commitment to our mission have enabled us to bring hope and comfort to thousands of children and their families.

Looking to the future, we are excited to continue expanding our reach and making a positive difference in the lives of even more children. We hope that you will join us in our efforts and consider donating today to help bring hope and comfort to sick children in need. Whether you are able to donate funds or new or gently used books, every contribution makes a difference. If you are interested in donating please visit our website:

Our program is now partnering with the Interact and JROTC programs at Albert Gallatin School District. These students are the first to start their own Books of Hope program. We look forward to working with these students and growing the impact of Books of Hope.
